Jeevtronics

Focus Area: Medical Device

Solution: Hand Cranked Defibrillator

Geography: PAN India

Website: jeevtronics.com

Jeevtronics is a social and technology venture that has developed the world's first dual powered bi-phasic defibrillator (SanMitra 1000 HCT), which is also the world’s first and only hand cranked generator powered defibrillator. SanMitra 1000 HCT is one of the few commercially available external defibrillators suitable for ambulances, and for geographies with limited or no access to electricity.

Given the significant risk of arrhythmias in COVID-19 patients, the availability of SanMitra 1000 HCT will enable healthcare facilities to provide emergency care services, and thereby avoid preventable deaths.

The financial support secured from USAID’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, will enable Jeevtronics to undertake distribution and sales of more than 300 units of SanMitra 1000 HCT, across resource constrained hospitals in semi-urban and rural regions of India. Owing to the lifespan of defibrillators, these sales will enable the entity to impact lives of 1.9 million people from low-income communities.
