Through these facilities it caters to not only the state of Maharashtra but also neighbouring regions, including Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

The financial support secured from USAID’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, will enable the institution to convert 100 of its existing beds into oxygenated beds, 20 of which will be intensive care facilities. DMIMS, within a year of receiving the funding, aims to impact 56000 vulnerable lives, from tribal population and economically backward communities.

SanMitra 1000 HCT is one of the few commercially available external defibrillators suitable for ambulances, and for geographies with limited or no access to electricity.

Given the significant risk of arrhythmias in COVID-19 patients, the availability of SanMitra 1000 HCT will enable healthcare facilities to provide emergency care services, and thereby avoid preventable deaths.

The financial support secured from USAID’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, will enable Jeevtronics to undertake distribution and sales of more than 300 units of SanMitra 1000 HCT, across resource constrained hospitals in semi-urban and rural regions of India. Owing to the lifespan of defibrillators, these sales will enable the entity to impact lives of 1.9 million people from low-income communities.

Collateral Medical Private Limited (ColMed) is an established distributor of medical equipment and devices. Leveraging the funding support from USAID’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, they will be importing ~3000 oxygen concentrators, enabling better management of COVID-19 patients with SpO2 80 and above.

ColMed will ensure the oxygen concentrators procured meet the WHO specifications, and will prioritize their distribution at subsidized rates to healthcare facilities such as hospitals, COVID-19 care units that serve vulnerable population, particularly in tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India. The equipment will be marketed through ColMed’s own portal and will be supplied at discounted rates to make it affordable and accessible to public. Through this initiative, ColMed aims to impact lives of 1.25 lac people from low-income communities.

Jeevan Lite ICU Ventilator is a portable, cost-effective, battery-operated ventilation system for critical COVID-19 infected patients through loT-enabled remote monitoring. It incorporates an app-based device to remotely monitor patients, reducing exposure of care givers to hospital acquired infections. The App provides critical lung parameters of the patient on a real-time basis for both invasive and non-invasive ventilation including for pediatric patients.

Over the next 1 year, financial support secured from USAID’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund will enable Aerobiosys to potentially reduce nosocomial infections among medical staff. Moreover, they will aim to reduce the cost incurred by service providers for ICU services, and enable approximately 50,000 critically ill patients to avail treatment at an affordable cost.

SWACHH 4.0 is a low-cost modular ultrasonic machine with availability of multiple add-ons for producing high quality 3-ply masks at a faster rate (50,000 per day). This hybrid automatic machine works on the technology of ultrasonic sealing of non-woven materials used in sanitary pads and masks. It is compact, easily operable and ideal for medium to high scale production requirements. This decentralized machine technology leads to availability of affordable, high quality surgical masks while ensuring a regular supply in different locations.

Over the next 1 year, support secured from USAID’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund will enable Saral Designs to increase access to high quality masks in vulnerable communities at subsidized rates thereby reducing the spread of the aerosol based infection – COVID-19. To ensure long-term utility of the machines and gain maximum value from the investments, the SWACHH 4.0 can be used for making menstrual hygiene products ensuring livelihood of the local communities post the pandemic.

To bridge on-field experience for this cadre, AAA HealthCare will train medical professionals in critical skills focusing on COVID-related intensive care settings to mount an effective response to the pandemic.One-day intensive training workshops including management of COVID patients in critical conditions (ventilator, HFOC, IPC, clinical management) for about 4200 nurses and 700 doctors are proposed. This capacity building of healthcare professionals is designed to improve clinical management of moderate to severe patients and reduce COVID mortalities, optimize utilization of precious medical resources like oxygen & medicines and eventually create an additional cadre of trained medical staff for the long term.

The 4-hour training program will be conducted online or onsite (given the Covid restrictions) which will include the training module (2 hrs theory & 2 hrs practical) and an assessment. The certification partner is the Electronic Sector Skills Council of India (since ventilators fall under the category of medical equipment), a certificate will be issued to the trained candidates.

Wipro GE Healthcare provides imaging and ultrasound solutions to healthcare institutions. GE's Healthcare Institute (HCI) Education portal is a robust assortment of courses developed and curated by leading experts across the globe.

With support from SAMRIDH, Wipro GE will train 6000 healthcare workers including doctors, nurses, paramedics and community healthcare workers in over 25 cities spanning 15 states and union territories in India, on COVID-19 protocols and management techniques. The entity will leverage its strategic partnership with hospitals, colleges, state governments of Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Sikkim, and industry bodies, such as FICCI, Healthcare Sector Skill Council and Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM).

The training plan will cover a demo of using equipment, such as ventilators, health monitoring devices etc., along with detailed coverage of curriculum specially designed for COVID-19 treatment. At least one-third of training, i.e. 2200 healthcare professionals will be trained onsite, while 4000 healthcare professionals will be training through an online platform. Additionally, around 200 doctors will be trained for advanced PICU/NICU pediatric COVID-19 case management. Once the training is completed, Wipro GE will continue disseminating the new information on ICMR protocols and COVID-19 management through an app or portal.

While there is a lot of focus in cities for setting up large-capacity ICU beds, the smaller towns are often left out. CHD Group’s Mission ICU is a social collaborative initiative aimed at bolstering existing ICU capacity in tier 2 and tier 3 cities across the country,

With support from SAMRIDH, the group will be identifying 10 hospitals in small towns across Karnataka and screening them for capacity, medical teams, space, and capability to manage Intensive Care facilities. The aim is to augment the ICU capacity in Karnataka by 100 beds (10 beds X 10 hospitals) across tier 2 and 3 cities. Through the expertise gained from this multi-step process, the ultimate goal is to generate templatized solutions and create a playbook of “Mission ICU” that will be useful in guiding local NGOs or non-profits who wish to implement rapid expansion of ICU capacity in their districts.  Integrating the ICU beds will support institutional expansion to meet present and future pandemic risks and surge capacities during natural disasters and extreme weather events.

Wipro GE Healthcare provides imaging and ultrasound solutions to healthcare institutions. GE's Healthcare Institute (HCI) Education portal is a robust assortment of courses developed and curated by leading experts across the globe.

With support from SAMRIDH, Wipro GE will train 6000 healthcare workers including doctors, nurses, paramedics and community healthcare workers in over 25 cities spanning 15 states and union territories in India, on COVID-19 protocols and management techniques. The entity will leverage its strategic partnership with hospitals, colleges, state governments of Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Sikkim, and industry bodies, such as FICCI, Healthcare Sector Skill Council and Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM).

The training plan will cover a demo of using equipment, such as ventilators, health monitoring devices etc., along with detailed coverage of curriculum specially designed for COVID-19 treatment. At least one-third of training, i.e. 2200 healthcare professionals will be trained onsite, while 4000 healthcare professionals will be training through an online platform. Additionally, around 200 doctors will be trained for advanced PICU/NICU pediatric COVID-19 case management. Once the training is completed, Wipro GE will continue disseminating the new information on ICMR protocols and COVID-19 management through an app or portal.

PLUSS® is a materials research and manufacturing company involved in the field of Phase Change Materials (PCMs) for thermal energy storage. Pluss provides a set of pre-qualified temperature-controlled shipping containers Celsure®, that maintains precise temperature between 2-8°C, 15-25°C and frozen (- 20°C) for up to five days. These containers are backed by Pluss’ proprietary technology that uses PCMs – advanced thermal energy storage materials that can store and release large amount of energy keeping the temperature constant without any external power supply. These solutions are used by pharma, diagnostics and biotech companies to pack and transport temperature sensitive drugs, vaccines, test kits, clinical trial samples and other heat labile products.

With support from SAMRIDH, Pluss will double the capacity of Celsure® boxes from 3,000 boxes per month to 6,000 boxes per month and establish local warehousing and PCM freezing facility at Hyderabad, Telangana to cater to the various vaccine manufacturers (Bharat Biotech, DRL, Biological E). This will help pharma and biotech companies – involved in the manufacturing and distribution of COVID-19 test kits, drugs and vaccines – in making timely deliveries. This intervention will ultimately benefit the population residing in underserved regions that face formidable challenges in cold-chain management.
